Q: What role do you have on the broadcast team?
A: “I’m either an anchor or a correspondent for the team. We like to alternate who’s on the desk so the use of a correspondent is needed.”
Q: What is your favorite part about broadcast?
A: “I enjoy doing the broadcasts as broadcast is something I’m going to do as a career and it’s really fun to do it with my friends.”
Q: What made you want to join the class?
A: “I want to major in broadcast journalism and this class helps me get started with being a broadcast journalist.”
Q: How do you plan to apply the class to the real world?
A: “I want to pursue a career in broadcast journalism so getting a taste of what people do helps me see what I’ll be doing when I get started with my broadcast career.”
Q: What is the biggest challenge you have faced?
A: “For me, I feel like there are multiple challenges that we face. We take a while getting our mics set up and getting ourselves (the anchors and correspondents) set by making sure we’re not slouching, regardless if we’re standing or sitting. We also take a while by doing read-throughs to make sure we sound right and we get the transitions between the anchors and correspondents correct, especially if we have VOSOT’s. Also, we may take awhile recording as Mr. Ellis may want to record more than once so everything can be as correct as possible.”
