Glass Castle is a memoir written by Jeannette Walls in 2005. The story is short clips and stories of her life in chronological order, all showcasing her peculiar family. To an outsider, her life could look like a tragedy, but her writing portrays her life as the opposite. Her father, mother, and three siblings travel around the country and live in numerous environments, growing and maturing along the way.
Great writing, plot, and purpose in this novel is the highlight of the book, so it is understandable that it had been so successful in the 2000s.
Glass Castle is a must read for all ages. The interpersonal and intrapersonal bonds shown are ones to remember, as well as the plot lines intertwined with them. I personally recommend this book to anyone.
