Lately there has been a big craze over coloring books. Not just any coloring books, but adult coloring books that come with intricate designs, exciting patterns and amazing artwork. It is a stress relieving activity that helps relax and unwind during a stressful week. I love the overall idea of adult coloring books because they are focused, fun and a way to take your mind off of the work load during the week. I have one that I absolutely adore and it is always a pleasure to see individuals take time for themselves and concentrate on something entertaining.

Whenever I work on my coloring book at home I always appreciate the end product. It gives me a sense of accomplishment and capability I don’t usually feel when I finish homework or a project. I don’t have to be a proficient artist to color and can pick a picture off a page that speaks to me to work on. It helps me through any boredom that’s threatening to overtake me at a given time. It always distracts me from my negative thoughts and gears them to be more positive, helping me improve my attitude for the day. To be able to use this activity is an asset to my daily routine and a gift that keeps on giving.

Adult coloring books can be so much more than any color by number could be because they can be highly effective for everyone. It serves the calmer side of me along with my problem-solving and organizational skills. They have conquered the test of time and to have them be the latest craze is exciting.
