Math UIL prepares for meet tommrow
October 31, 2014
The math academic UIL team had their first meeting today in PIT to prepare for their first event at UT Austin on Nov. 1.
Math academic UIL and UIL in general, are great ways for students who find great interest in a certain subject to find distinction and compete in academic contest.
“I joined last year because I love competition,” senior Kevin Tan said. “I hope to use it to program games on pc.”
The Math UIL team has been very successful in the past, several students have made it to regionals, and some even state.
“I love mathematics and been doing UIL since fourth grade,” Junior Brendan Hollaway said. “I’d love to go to state.”
This year, Mrs. Macklom will be coordinating students on the team, taking the place of Mrs. Fisher in the past.
“It’s going to be a fabulous,” Mrs. Maclom said. “I can’t wait to get to know them.”
