Summer Smoothies
June 5, 2014
There’s nothing like tropical smoothie on a hot summer day. Whether it’s after a morning workout or while you’re lounging by the pool, smoothies are always the perfect way to cool down. Below are just a couple of my favorite smoothie recipes that are both delicious and nutritious.
- 1/2 cup fresh raspberries (frozen would be fine too)
- 1 ripe banana, peeled and frozen
- 1/2 cup original almond milk
- 1 (5.3 oz) container strawberry or raspberry Greek yogurt
- 1/4 cup water
- 3 – 4 ice cubes (optional)
Mix all of the ingredients together in blender. Feel free to experiment with adding additional fruits.
- 1 cup original unsweetened almond milk
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp chia seeds
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 8-10 ice cubes
This smoothie is awesome because it taste like a Wendy’s Frosty but it’s actually really good for you. Put all ingredients in a blender and mix well.
- 1 medium banana, previously peeled, frozen and quartered
- 1/2 cup mixed frozen berries
- 1 Tbsp flaxseed meal
- 1 heaping Tbsp natural, salted peanut butter
- 1/2 – 3/4 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
- 2 cups fresh spinach
This Smoothie is extremely good for you and the perfect way to start out your day. Mix all ingredients in a blender and enjoy.
