Tell us a little about yourself…
I have always lived in Texas. I graduated from the University of North Texas. I got married in 1992. I have lived in Austin since2006. I have been at Vandegrift since 2010. I am currently teaching Chemistry and AP Biology. I love being outdoors. I love to hunt and fish.
What made you decide to teach science?
I enjoy science. I enjoy learning Biology, Chemistry, Physics and I am fascinated with how things work. It was natural to want to teach something that I like.
What is your favorite part about being a teacher at Vandegrift?
I get to work with amazing students.
What should your students expect for the rest of the year?
Both of my classes will become more difficult, but we will start applying things we learned in the fall to problems we encounter in the spring.
What is a fun fact about you?
I have a pet tortoise that I found 13 years ago and his name is turtle.
