On November 1st, from 10:30am to 2:30pm, Vandegrift High School’s very own C2 club will be attending and participating in the semi-annual “Forum for Change”. It is put on every fall and spring, and is being held this year at Leander High School.
C2 first appeared in LISD at Leander High School in 2010. It started out as many separate clubs, and then formed into one club called C2. It is now in many Leander ISD schools, from elementary school to high school.
At the forum, the theme for this year is to be “Keys to Kindness”. It teaches students about the importance of bullying awareness, and encourages them to spread kindness and caring throughout the community. This year, 400 students from around the district are expected to attend. Many students from Vandegrift will be at the conference and are looking forward to a day of fun games and educational activities.
‘I am really looking forward to the forum, because I like meeting new people,’ Brianna Galvan Freshman said.
One purpose the forum is to help each school’s club grow closer together and learn how to improve it by interacting with students from different schools.
“I’m really interested in seeing what other high school’s do in their clubs, too,” Galvan said.
