Graduation will be held Sunday, June 3rd at 5:30 at The Cedar Park Center. This will be followed by an evening of fun and games at Dave and Busters at 10:30 PM, where students will be 100% chaperoned by parent volunteers.
“The main goal of the Project Graduation party is to give the senior class a fun (free) event to hang out together one last time before everyone is going their separate ways,” Nancy Kotlarz said.
Statistics show that on graduation night, the number of teenage deaths related to drunk driving incidents are the highest compared to any other night. Project graduation is a private, non-profit event that hosts an adult-supervised, alcohol-free night after graduation.
Seniors are required to report to the cafeteria to sign in and get their wrist band for the party, and will then be bussed directly to Dave and Busters. The night will be filled with fun events, music, games, food and prizes. Students will return to school by 6 AM the following morning.
Currently, the Project Graduation Committee has raised $1,800. Their next idea to fund raise money is to have an ‘unfundraiser,’ where they ask each senior parent to contribute $50 per senior, or however much amount they would feel comfortable with
