The Viper Cross Country Team traveled to Giddings this past Saturday to compete in their last race before District. All the teams performed at their best with many athletes running personal bests.
The Varsity Boys team took third place. JR Hardy led the way for the Vipers with a new three miles School Record set at 15 min. and 29 seconds and finished 3rd overall. Topher Jensen finished 4th and Brandon Keys finished 5th overall.
The Varsity Girls team took 4th place. Gretta Smith paced the team with a 2nd place finish overall and a new 2 mile school record of 11 min. and 42 seconds. Leah Butterfield finished 11th overall.
In the JV race, Cody Cox won the entire race and finished the 2 mile course in 12 min. and 31 seconds.
The Viper CC teams will compete in their district meet Friday Oct. 29th at Old Settler’s Park. Please wish these hard working athletes good luck.
