Senior year brings on the inevitable wave of responsibility, but also a lot more freedom. As second semester is winding down many seniors are itching to take one last adventure before stepping into the world of adulthood, college. Kim Pena, Gabby Young, and Haley Teague are embarking on their senior trip this semester and are excited to be doing one last big thing before everyone separates and goes off to college.
“The three of us love everything about New York City, so it was an obvious choice of where we wanted to go. We can not stop thinking about our trip, it’s going to be perfect,” Young said.
The girl’s pulled out all the stops for their presentation to persuade their parents. They dressed very nice and had dinner and drinks at their parents disposal to ensure the happiest of moods and the most positive responses.
“In order for our parents to even consider us three girls going to New York by ourselves, we planned out our potential trip to a tee. We sat them all down and presented a powerpoint that would lay out exactly what we would do, how much it would cost, and most importantly where we would eat,” Pena said.
Their parents were very impressed by the thoughtful presentation of the girls trip and ultimately agreed to let them go. After all the parents and girls were on board, all the plans could now become a reality. Plane tickets were bought and hotel reservations were booked.
“I am just so happy that my best friends and I get to fly there together and feel like adults. I cannot wait to visit New York City because after college is over I hope to live here one day, so I will just soak up every minute of it,” Pena said.
The girls have put together a packed list of everything they are dying to see and do on their getaway. They plan to hit up West Village shopping, Broadway musicals, tea at the Plaza, Central Park, lots of museums and everything in between. Pena, Young, and Teague are beyond prepared for their perfect senior trip to to New York City
“The goal is that we will be able to fit in enough so that people will ask us for directions, that way we will know that our trip to New York was a success,” Teague said.
