What started as new club in 2012, has now become the largest club at Vandegrift. C2 is a club that promotes leadership and a caring atmosphere throughout the school and the community. Through the help of many dedicated students and club sponsor Mrs. Gallagher, the club has become a great positive influence at Vandegrift.

Every year C2 has a theme that dictates the upcoming events and service opportunities throughout the year.

“This year’s theme is soldiers for kindness, and is a great tribute to Mathew Vandegrift and all those serving in the army,” Lauren Conroy, C2 platinum member, said.

One major event coming up this year that is hosted by C2 a talent show. For the second year in a row, C2 is putting on Vandegrift’s talent show , which will be held Dec. 12.

“The talent show will be fun and holiday themed, as well all the proceeds will go to a military organization,” Alex George, C2 platinum member, said.

Another major event that C2 is hosting is the district wide C2 forum. This forum has students from all over the district come and learn valuable life lessons in an interactive and fun way.

“We are hosting the spring forum which is exciting, because we have been wanting it for several years and is a day dedicated to growing leadership qualities with hundreds of other students,” Conroy said.

The club just had it’s first of many meetings for the year and wants to have a strong presence on campus this year.

“Make sure to wear your C2 shirt every Monday, we hope for lots of participation throughout the year,” Conroy said.
