This Sunday the girls lacrosse team competed in their third tournament of the season, winning two of three games.

“It felt great to win those scrimmages,” senior Brittney Miles said. “I think they really foreshadow how the rest of our season is going to go.”

Although their actual season doesn’t start until February the girls have been practicing since late September during fall ball.

“We would’ve never won those games if the girls hadn’t worked so hard during fall ball,” junior Kim Morris said. “It’s a crucial time for team bonding and improving on basic skills.”

During the tournament the girls competed against Westwood and Stony Point, both JV and Varsity. The girls scored a total of 20 points, with senior Kristin Guerra being the top scorer. Additionally, sophomore Cydney McCollum played goalie for the first time and stopped over 15 goals.

“The level of talent we have is top notch,” senior Kristin Guerra said. “I expect a lot of success from the Lady Vipers this season.”
