Swim team is going to districts this Friday at Killen.
“Districts it is the first championship meet and the whole team will be swimming on Friday,” sophomore Jonathan Broughton said.
District is split into two parts. In the first part, on Friday, the whole team competes. If a swimmer place in the top eight in their event, they will compete in the second round on Saturday.
“From there the top six of those eight will get to move on to the next championship meet which is regionals,” Broughton said.
Swim team is hoping that the meet will end with a first place win.
“Both girls and guys are expecting to take first place and girls are hoping to take first for all of our relays too,” sophomore Sydney Sanders said.
Swim team has been preparing for this meet all year. Their goal for the season is for all of their relays to place third in the state.
“Our big goal is for 200 medley, 200 free and 400 free relays to go to state and place at least third,” sophomore Amanda Burton said.
