Family events during Thanksgiving week in Austin

There are several exciting events going on next week here in Austin to celebrate Thanksgiving. There is much to be thankful for! From Nov. 20 to Nov. 26, Austin is going to be flooded with fun holiday festivities that can be enjoyed by all.
The Holiday Model Train Show at ArtSpace Round Rock
Wednesday, Nov. 25- Saturday, Jan.2, 11a.m.- 6p.m.
For all those train lovers out there! Make sure to visit the 3rd annual train show. They will have magnificent trains on display on Nov. 25 through Saturday, Jan. 2 from 11a.m.- 6p.m. Admission is free but donations are welcomed.
ThunderCloud Subs Turkey Trot at The Long Center
Thursday, Nov. 26, 8a.m.
Before you stuff your face for the big turkey day make sure to get in a pre-feast workout at the annual Turkey Trot in Austin. You can sign up for a 5-mile run/walk ($30), 1-mile run/walk ($25), and a fun Kids K ($10).
Exploration Station: Black Friday Activities at Bullock Museum
Friday, Nov. 27, 11a.m.- 3p.m.
If you want to take a breather from the hustle and bustle that comes with the stress of Black Friday, come visit the Bullock Museum for some fun activities and art projects. Activities are free with regular admission (12$/adult, $8 for ages 4-17).
Chuy’s Children Giving To Children Parade at Texas State Capitol and Congress Ave.
Saturday, Nov. 28, 11a.m.
Chuy’s Children giving to Children Parade will have inflatable balloons, famous children’s characters, classic cruisers, and spectacular marching bands. This event will be starting at the State Capitol at 11th and Congress, moving south all the way to Cesar Chavez, ending just north of the bridge.
A Christmas Carol at ZACH Theatre
Wednesday, Nov. 25- Sunday Dec. 27
Evenings at 7:30 p.m. & weekend matinees at 2:30 p.m.
A more fun and energetic spin on the Charles Dickens classic can be observed for a limited time only. A victorian themed setting and costumes combined with modernized vocal and musical talents will play a part in the show this upcoming week at the ZACH Theatre.
