Humans of Vandy: Senior Sophie Swearengin

Senior Sophie Swearengin.

Q: What are you involved in?

A: I’m in AD Team which is with all the ICAP students and we just hang out with them.

Q: What does the class do?

A: It helps to create social opportunities for them. We’ll do outside of school activities like the Autism Walk we go to and we bring all of them and it’s fun for them and then we have meetings at Cups and Cones, so they come and have a good time. Just for them to have everyone be friends and make them feel welcome.

Q:Where do you want to go to college?

A: My top two is either the University of Arkansas or the University of A&M at Corpus Christi. I’ve already gotten accepted to both of them, I just have to pick which one right now.

Q: Do you know what you want to major in?

A: I definitely want to go into communications, not exactly sure what yet, but somewhere down that road.

Q: What do you think has been the biggest lesson you’ve learned in high school?

A: Cherish your friends because once you go to college it’s going to be a lot different. Take opportunities with the counselors to prepare you for college so you know that you’re not completely lost when you actually get there.

Q: Is there a main life accomplishment you wish to reach?

A: I wanna have a family and I want to have a successful job in whatever I’m doing. I wanna be working and then I probably want to have about two kids.

Q: If you could give any words of advice to anyone what would they be?

A: To underclassmen mostly, try in high school. Don’t put it off because it really does affect colleges and stuff so, don’t slack.
