The star studded movie New Year’s Eve, hit box offices on December 11 and made $13,019,180 opening week. With a very popular cast, such as Zac Efron, Ashton Kutcher and Robert De Nero, there are stars suitable for every age. The film is sure to please with characters from popular shows such as Glee, Two and a half men and Saturday Night Live.
Much like Valentine’s Day, which came out in 2010, New Year’s Eve offers a somewhat twisted plot line that keeps you guessing. While and overall happy vibe, despite the few skeletons reveled in a few of the character’s past, the story finds a way to tug at your heart strings and make you remember how important family and friends are. Among some of the emotional scenes, comedy and romance are around every corner. Love happens among all ages in all forms and the cliché New Year’s Eve kiss is somewhat the central idea of the movie.
Overall I consider the movie to be worth the money. The storyline wasn’t predictable like I expected and has you leaving the theater feeling refreshed and hopeful. It was a definite step up from Valentine’s Day and I would recommend it to anyone who likes a good chick flick. As for guys go, I’d say steer clear unless you’re bringing a date.
