A trip to California

Students travel near and far to go on vacation during Spring Break. Everyone tries to have as much fun as possible while enjoying the last full week out of school before summer. This year, I went to California for 10 days, flying out on the Thursday before the break and returning late on March 20. I got to see a lot of my friends that I haven’t seen in over a year, which made my visit even more special. Once I got there I felt right at home with the pleasant weather and all of the people I got to see throughout the week. I stayed with my friend and her family for the whole break and we went to a lot of fun places, including Disneyland and the beach.

My week began with a trip to Disney’s California Adventure theme park on Tuesday, where I got to ride on different roller coasters and attractions such as the California Screamin’ and the Soarin’ over California. My friend’s family and I stayed there until the park closed, which was a long, but fun day. On Friday I got to go to Disneyland, which is a separate park from Disney’s California Adventure. Since it was a Friday and there were so many people around, it was difficult to get on some of the rides because of their long lines. The line that took the longest for me personally was the line to get into the actual park. Even with the wait time, I eventually got to go on most of my favorite rides including Space Mountain, Matterhorn, Star Tours and Splash Mountain. We ended the day watching the fireworks and staying until the park closed at 12 a.m. It was a memorable outing with the people who mean the most to me and I’ll never forget it.

Spring Break ended on a positive note with a day at the beach on Saturday. I got to wait and see the sunset in all of its beauty along with getting to see a proposal of two strangers at the end of the day. Candles spelled the words “I Love You’ with bonfires near the proposal area. It was such an amazing experience to see, especially on the beach. I was sad to see everything picked up at the end and once the beach got dark I went home with my friend to watch a movie together.

Going to California was one of the best Spring Breaks I’ve ever had. Seeing all of my friends while getting to go to amazing places made my trip significant and worthwhile. I hope to go back to California soon and I am so glad that I had the chance to go before I leave for college in August. I will never forget the new experiences and the joy I found while being in the Golden State. Â
