Who did you vote to the Homecoming Court?

Kelly Rosenblatt, Editor in Chief

In order to provide you with a little extra look into the 2014-2015 VHS homecoming court, the various royals were asked a series of personal questions.

  1. What is your favorite part of being a viper/going to VHS?
  2. What in-school extra curricular activities are you involved in?
  3. What are you interested in doing after High school?
  4. What are your hobbies outside of school?
  5. Were you excited/surprised to be nominated for homecoming court this year?

Claire Carpenter (Freshman Princess)

1. I think the atmosphere of the school is really cool and how everyone is really excited about being a Viper. Everyone is really into school spirit and that’s kind of cool.

2. I am in the Vision Dance Company and I am in choir.

3. College wise I have a couple in mind. I was thinking about going to New York or something, but wherever I go I want to study musical theater or something like that career, maybe even teaching.

4. In my free time, honestly, I like to take naps. I also play guitar and piano and the ukulele.

5. I’m not exactly what you would consider “popular” so I was like “people actually know who I am? This is insane.” I think it was mainly just my friends who nominated me, but yeah, it was really cool.

Carson Broe (Freshman prince)

1. Probably all the extra things you can do like clubs and the other extra curricular activities.

2. I’m in band and YMSL (Young Men’s Service League).

3. Some kind of engineering, somewhere along the lines of electrical engineering.

4. A lot of band and just being with my family and dogs. I play the french horn.

5. I didn’t even know what happened. I think all the band people just voted. I didn’t even know what homecoming prince was, I still don’t know what I’m supposed to do.

Quinn Apel (Sophomore princess)

1. I love going to varsity games and hearing the student section being so loud and involved.

2. I’m in competition cheer, varsity track (pole vault) and varsity cheer.

5. I was so excited to be a part of the court this year! So many people cheer your name and I get to walk out there with my best friend.

Luke Litzau (Sophomore prince)

1. We’re pretty well known for football so that’s always fun. It’s like if you say you go to Vandegrift you’re like “yeah, our football team’s pretty good” and so are all of our other sports so you kind of get to brag about it.

2. I’m in StuCo, NHS, Spanish NHS, football and track.

3. I want to go to UT probably and I want to be an orthodontist when I get older.

4. I like to wakeboard and just go on the lake in general. I like to hang out with my friends a lot. I have a pool and I like to swim.

5. Yeah, I’m really excited about it, we [Apel and Litzau] kind of knew we wanted to get nominated and we were telling some of our friends, so I wasn’t that surprised and I was really happy because I didn’t know if it was going to be us, but I’m super excited.
