Yesterday, October 16th, Vandegrift hosted an interactive “X Games” sports show that featured several of the world’s top professional BMX bikers. The message of this campaign was disclosed to the students of VHS about the dangers of tobacco usage.
The BMX bikers performed demonstrations on a professional half-pipe as they delivered an interactive anti-tobacco message, along with the Marines who showed us the effects of being physically and mentally strong. The announcer of this campaign not only spoke about the subject of smoking, but also secondhand smoke, the danger of smoking to users and the harmful substances that are used in tobacco. At the end of the show, students had a chance to win prizes during trivia and interact with the participants of the show.
