On Saturday, October 8, the Legacies Dance Team will perform at iDance, an annual Leander ISD production that showcases the work of all high school and middle school dance teams. iDance will be held at 1:00 pm and 7:00 pm at the Leander High School Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the door or from a Legacy.
This year, the Legacies will be performing jazz, lyrical, hip hop and officer routines. Along with these individual dances is the finale, in which all schools will receive a 45 second section. With the inclusion of a senior class this year, the senior Legacies will participate in a senior kick routine.
“The money from this year’s performance will be used for future resources for Legacy competitions and our fund,” Megan Hall, junior Legacy, said.
The Legacies have been practicing hard, with early releases from school to have dress rehearsals. All five high school teams have been having practice in the mornings, and full attention is given to perfecting the show.
“We’ve been practicing so hard to prepare, and people should come to iDance to see what we have done and to support the Legacies,” junior Sarah Bristow, a Legacy, said.
iDance is a chance to see competition-style dances very different from the field routine the Legacies perform at football games. With two performances at convenient times, the Legacies encourage everyone to attend.
“It’s a fantastic show to see; all of the teams have worked so hard and it definitely shows,” Hall said.
