On Saturday, February 19th, the Vandegrift Legacies competed in the ADTS Lone Star State Championship. The Legacies won best overall technique; ranking third place overall out of all teams and second place in Medium Team division. The team was awarded best lyrical and novelty and placed second in jazz. The Legacy officers won state in their division and Colonel Ashlee Cloud’s solo came in second for the Medium Team Varsity division.
“We knew going in that we had some pretty tough competition, but we also knew that we had been working so hard. We expected to do well, but not as well as we did,” Brittany Vanderloop, whose solo placed fifth in the Medium Team Varsity division, said.
The Legacies are preparing for the Austin Regional Crowd-Pleasers competition at Stony Point High School on Saturday, February 26th.
“As a team we have worked so hard to accomplish our goals in contest. We have done well but this next competition will be better,” Ashlee Cloud said.
