was formed last year in the hopes of uniting all the students on our campus in one common goal, to make Vandegrift High School a better and more safe place to be. The group is dedicated to promoting a “Culture of Caring” on campus, and it has done so by spreading positive news and their smiley face symbol.
At the beginning of the year was open to any and all students wishing to join, but as of Friday the 13th 2013, the membership for the 2013-2014 school year has been cut off. Any students that are just dying to join though can pop by Mrs. Phelp’s and see if there is any way you can still join the club. is currently over 200 members and meets every week on alternating Fridays and Thursdays, although meetings have been limited this year due to the sudden changes of PIT being at the end of the day on Fridays where there were football games.
The message that , itself, is trying to spread is something that could change the dynamic on our campus. I myself am a member of the group and have been honored enough to be part the Platinum group, a group of students who are dedicated to the club.
“ really brings the school together so well and we get to see people in our school truly grow as leaders as well as make an impact in our community and school,” Jimmy Weaks, Senior, said.
